Engine Restrictions

Vauxhall Corsa C
The maximum engine size permitted is 1200cc. Engines with a 1400cc capacity are not permitted.

Prohibited Models
The following models are not permitted in Micro Banger events:

• Nissan Micra K12

• Vauxhall Corsa D

Other Vehicle Models
For all other permitted car models, the maximum engine size is 1300cc.

Engine Swaps
Engine swaps are strictly prohibited.

Throttle Adjustments

• Fly-by-wire throttle systems may be replaced with earlier cable-operated throttles, provided they are from the same make and model.

• Larger throttle bodies are not permitted under any circumstances.

Engine Mounts

Strengthening

Original engine mounts may be strengthened but must remain in their original position.

Fabricated Mounts

Fabricated mounts may replace the original mounts, subject to the following conditions:

• They must be bolted to the chassis using a maximum of 3 bolts.

• The maximum size of the mount on the chassis is 8½ inches.

• The mount must not extend more than 50mm past the engine face for a bolt.

• Original bolt holes may be used, but drilling new holes is permitted.

Additional Guards

Engine mounts may include guards to protect the following specific components:

• A sump guard for exposed sumps.

• An oil filter guard for forward-facing oil filters.

• A knock sensor guard for forward-facing knock sensors.

These guards must:

• Be bolted only to the front of the engine or the engine mount.

• Not be attached under the engine or to any gearbox fixings.

• Have a maximum thickness of 6mm.

• Be used solely to protect the engine and keep it operational.

Astra/Corsa Models

Engines cannot be attached to the subframes on Astra or Corsa vehicles.

Gearbox Mounts

Gearbox mounts may either be strengthened or replaced with fabricated mounts, subject to the following conditions:

• The maximum size of the mount on the chassis is 6 inches.

• The mount must not extend past the engine face (the point where the manifold bolts to the engine).

Ford Fiesta/KA Exception

For Ford Fiesta and Ford KA models:

• The gearbox mounting must not exceed the main chassis leg.

• It may only be bolted to the lower bolts in the chassis for the gearbox mount.

• No part of the mount may protrude more than 10mm forward of the gearbox.

Chassis Restrictions

• No additional metal is permitted on the chassis for mounting the engine.

• Engine mounts must not be designed to protect other components, such as water outlets or distributors.

Approved Vehicles

Only cars included on the approved vehicle list are permitted.

For cars not included on the list, drivers must contact the promoter to obtain approval if they believe the vehicle meets the necessary specifications.
