ELLIE ROSE TRAVEL Scunthorpe Scorpions’ duo Luke Harrison and Ryan Ingram were both in the mix in the British Under-19 Final at Plymouth last night (Saturday), with Harrison finishing on the rostrum for a third successive season.
Defending champion Harrison won his opening two outings, before finishing second to eventual champion Jody Scott in Heat 11 and Cooper Rushen in Heat 16. Harrison then won Heat 18 to wrap up third place on the evening.
It was Harrison’s last appearance in the competition, since he will be too old next season. He now has a full set of medals, since he finished second at Oxford in 2024 and won the championship at Workington in 2025.
16-year-old Ingram scored solidly with a win in Heat 15, allied to three second places and one third place, to gain fifth overall.
Drizzle for much of the evening affected racing on the smallest speedway track in the UK, and passing was at an absolute premium. All the young riders on display deserved praise for their efforts, as did the track staff at Plymouth.

* THE second leg of the Cab Direct Championship play-off semi-final takes place at Glasgow on Friday (September 25), with the aggregate winners progressing to the final to face Poole Pirates. Scunthorpe lead 53-37 after the first leg. If Scorpions progress, the next and last home meeting of the season for the Ellie Rose Travel Scunthorpe Scorpions at Scunthorpe’s Eddie Wright Raceway will be the play-off Grand Final.
