ELLIE ROSE TRAVEL Scunthorpe Scorpions open their 2026 fixtures with a home meeting against the Redcar Bears in the BSN Series at the Eddie Wright Raceway on Sunday (March 22) at 3pm.

New No 1 and skipper Josh Pickering will make his debut for Scorpions, who have put together an exciting team blending experience and youth.

Scunthorpe promoter Rob Godfrey said: “There’s been other meetings in the UK, but our fixture against Redcar is the first official meeting of the season – the serious stuff starts at the Eddie Wright Raceway on Sunday.

“I’m hoping plenty of fans will be in attendance, especially given the family-friendly start-time of 3pm.

“It’s been a long winter and, for many, this will be their first meeting of the season.

“We’ve put 2025 behind us, and the club is looking forward to an exciting 2026 season. There’s a buzz around the team after our press and practice on Saturday.

“The whole of the Cab Direct Championship is so competitive this year – it’s impossible to pick a winner and it’s going to be a thrilling year.

“We want to get our campaign in the Northern Group in the BSN Series off to a positive start on Sunday, and it’s bound to be a great occasion. I can’t wait.”
