ELLIE ROSE TRAVEL Scunthorpe Scorpions are seeking to show improved away form when they travel to Workington in the BSN Series tomorrow afternoon (Saturday, 3pm).
Scorpions have struggled on their travels in 2026, scoring 32 at Redcar and 29 at Poole. But last time out, they won 50-40 in a home meeting against Poole.
Having lost the aggregate bonus point to Redcar in the BSN Series, Scorpions need a minimum of three points in the two meetings against Workington. The return meeting is the next action at the Eddie Wright Raceway, on Friday, May 1 at 7.30pm.
16-year-old Ryan Ingram scored 6+1 at home at Poole, including winning his first-ever race at Cab Direct Championship level.
The youngster said to Speedway Star magazine this week: “I quite like it around Workington. If I can bag a few points away from home, it will do me the world of good.
“The team are feeling confident after last Friday’s win over Poole, so if we can carry that on and get a win, or keep it close because we know we are good at Scunny, it will be another confidence booster for the team.”
Scorpions are at full strength. Workington is missing the injured Vinnie Foord, but arguably are stronger with Cooper Rushen as the guest replacement.
For those who cannot make it to Workington, the British Speedway Network (BSN) are live streaming the meeting at: British Speedway Network

Workington Comets: 1. Jonas Jeppesen, 2. Niklas Holm Jakobsen, 3. Craig Cook, 4. Tate Zischke, 5. Troy Batchelor, 6. Cooper Rushen (guest), 7. Jamie Etherington.
